About
A clear, practical approach to websites
I’m a Brighton-based freelance Squarespace web designer and SEO consultant, working with small, service-based businesses across Brighton, Hove, Sussex, and the wider UK.
I enjoy working with people who value clarity, straightforward advice, and a calm, organised way of working. My focus is on structure, usability, and content that clearly explains what a business does, without unnecessary complexity or over-designed features.
Background and experience
I’ve worked in communications and digital roles for over 13 years, including senior leadership roles in communications and digital strategy, before moving into independent consultancy.
That experience means I’m comfortable supporting local businesses with both strategic thinking and practical delivery.
I place a strong emphasis on clear messaging, sensible decisions, steady delivery, and technically sound foundations rather than trends or tactics for their own sake.
My SEO work is supported by formal training, including Semrush SEO Essentials, Technical SEO fundamentals (Semrush Academy), and Google Digital Garage (Digital Marketing), alongside ongoing, hands-on client work.
That means I focus not just on keywords and content, but on crawlability, indexing, internal structure, and the technical foundations that help search engines properly understand a site.
Recent work includes projects like this construction website rebuild case study.
How I work
Projects are handled directly with me, without account layers or agency hand-offs. I keep things collaborative and well-structured, with clear expectations around scope, timelines, and outcomes.
Clients often say they appreciate the clarity of the process and the fact that things feel manageable rather than overwhelming. The aim is always to deliver a website that feels straightforward to use, represents the business accurately, and continues to work well as the business evolves.
I follow a clear, structured process on every project.
Values and approach
How I work is shaped by a strong set of personal values. I care about doing good work properly, treating people fairly, and being clear and honest about what’s needed and what isn’t.
That shows up in a calm, respectful way of working, realistic recommendations, and a focus on long-term usefulness rather than short-term wins. For many clients, that sense of trust and steadiness matters just as much as the finished website.
Why I use Squarespace
All website projects are built on Squarespace.
For small service businesses in Brighton and across the UK, Squarespace offers a reliable balance of flexibility, stability, and ease of maintenance. It allows you to update your site without ongoing developer involvement, while still supporting clean structure, crawlable site architecture, and solid on-page SEO foundations.
It’s a platform that works well for long-term ownership, not just launch day.
Location
I’m based in Brighton and work primarily with local businesses in Brighton and Hove, as well as service-based businesses across the UK.
Much of my work comes from referrals and long-term client relationships, particularly with small businesses looking for clear, dependable digital support.
